The Mount Gambier Harness Racing Club has a long tradition of success, with harness racing at the Mount Gambier Showgrounds, Pick Avenue, for over 70 years.

The Club has 16 race meetings scheduled for the 2025/26 season, commencing on Friday 31 October, and continuing through to June. The highlight of the season, the Matthews Petroleum Mount Gambier Pacing Gold Cup will be held on Saturday 14 March 2026.

Pony trots is an exciting part of the Mount Gambier race meetings, with 2 fields of ponies thrilling the crowd.
